Study Abroad: China Strategies for Entry and Operation

Earn graduate credit while studying business in China!
KU CIBER offers a short-term study abroad program in China this summer. Learn first-hand about the Chinese economy, investment environment, and its people and culture. The trip will be led by Professor Jane Zhao, and will focus on Strategies for Entry and Operation in China. Participants will visit Beijing and Shanghai.
Students will make visits to companies, government officials, educational institutions and cultural sites. In a previous CIBER-sponsored trip to China, participants visited companies such as Microsoft, Sohu.com, china.com, Bluescope Butler, Deloitte, Lotus Supercenter, and Shanghai GM. They also received briefings at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), the U.S. Embassy and Commercial Service, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and the American Chamber of Commerce.
WHO: MBA students from KU and other universities; graduate students from other professional schools, such as engineering, architecture, law, and journalism
WHAT: Graduate level course focusing on the various dimensions of Chinese business climate and guidelines for operating effectively in China today. Course will be taught in English, and includes orientation and preparatory reading.
WHERE: Beijing and Shanghai, China
WHEN: May 21-June 1, 2007

Accepted students will be notified within 7-10 days and will receive an acceptance packet and financial contract. NON-KU STUDENTS are welcome to attend the course, but will need to be enrolled as non-degree seeking KU students in order to receive credit. Once you have applied and been accepted, the Office of Study Abroad will send you a packet that includes a form, needed to apply for non-degree status.
